When Using a Browser

When Using mIRC

Register a nick  click your nick, right click yoru nick then choose Change Nickname type, /nick nickname then register by typing /register passwordhere type, /nick nickname then type,  /register passwordhere
New Server                              Identify for a registered nick type, /pass passwordhere type,              /pass password    or build an aliase
Join a room Click the Rooms tab at the top left section of the screen.  Scroll up or down to find the desired room.  Double click the room name. Type  /join #roomnanehere  in the text entry box at the bottom of any existing window and then press the Enter key.
Leave a room Click the Quit quit.gif (1183 bytes) icon in the upper left corner of the room window. Type  /part #roomnamehere in the text entry box at the bottom of any existing window and then press the Enter key.
Create a room for a temp room type, /join #roomname for a permanent room Contact Admin Type  /join #roomhanehere  in the text entry box at the bottom of any existing window and then press the Enter key.
Change nicks while online To change nicks after connecting the user should first decide on a nick and them type  /nick namehere   followed by the Enter key.  The term namehere should be replaced with the nick name you want to use.
Handle a lost password Contact admin,
Report server related issues If any server related issues (system is down, erratic behavior, users who evade bans, etc.) to a System Administrator.  Current administrators use the contact form
Get a list of channels Click the Rooms tab in the upper left portion of the screen Type /list in the text box at the bottom of the Status window and press the Enter key.
"Op" someone In order to Op someone, you yourself must be Opped.give_moderator.gif (185 bytes) In order to Op someone, you yourself must be Opped.   To Op a user select their Nick from the Members list on the right of the screen by pointing at their Nick and clicking the RIGHT mouse button.  A panel will appear.   Select Control and then Op from the list that appears.
"De-op" someone In order to Op someone, you yourself must be Opped.give_moderator.gif (185 bytes) In order to De-Op someone, you yourself must be Opped.   To De-Op a user select their Nick from the Members list on the right of the screen by pointing at their Nick and clicking the RIGHT mouse button.  A panel will appear.   Select Control and then Deop from the list that appears.
"Ignore" a user to ignore a user click on the users nickname then click "ignore" Type  /ignore nickhere 3 is a "complete" ignore in the text entry box at the bottom of the window and press the Enter key.  Nickhere means the nick of the person you want to ignore.  Another method is to select the Nick you wish to ignore from the Members list on the right of the screen by pointing at their Nick and clicking the RIGHT mouse button.  A panel will appear.  Select Control and then Ignore from the list that appears.
"Un-Ignore" a user a user click the nick then click "unignore" To Un-Ignore a user type  /unignore nickhere  in the text entry box at the bottom of the window and hit the Enter key.  Another method is to select the Nick you wish to unignore from the Members list on the right of the screen by pointing at their Nick and clicking the RIGHT mouse button.  A panel will appear.  Select Control and then Unignore from the list that appears.
"Kick" a user In order to Kick someone you must be Opped. Use the mouse to point at the user you wish to Ban and click the LEFT mouse button once. A red outline will appear to show that they have been selected.  Now go to the top of the screen and point the mouse at theKick kick.gif (978 bytes)  icon and click once.   The user will be ejected from the room.  In order to Kick someone you must be Opped. To Kick a user out of the channel select their Nick from the Members list on the right of the screen by pointing at their Nick and clicking the RIGHT mouse button.  A panel will appear.   Select Control and then Kick from the list that appears.  You may also use Kick (why) which works the same but permits you to enter a short reason for your action.
"Silence" a user In order to Silence someone you must be Opped. quiet.gif (599 bytes) In order to Silence someone you must be Opped.  To Silence a user (stop then from talking to the channel)  select their Nick from the Members list on the right of the screen by pointing at their Nick and clicking the RIGHT mouse button.  A panel will appear.  Select Control and then Devoice from the list that appears.
Give or Take quiet Should a member become disruptive, you can remove the capability for his/her text to be seen in the room. to give or take quiet status, click on the members nick then right click on the members nick and click on give or take quiet status
 
Give or take quiet, someone you must be Opped.   To Un-Silence a user (allow them to speak to the channel) select their Nick from the Members list on the right of the screen by pointing at their Nick and clicking the RIGHT mouse button.  A panel will appear.  Select Control and then Voice from the list that appears.
"Ban" a user Use this function to view, add, or delete room bans,  you must be a moderator to use this functio  In order to Ban someone you must be Opped. To Ban a user (lock them out of the room) select their Nick from the Members list on the right of the screen by pointing at their Nick and clicking the RIGHT mouse button.  A panel will appear.  Select Control and then Ban from the list that appears.  You may also use Ban (why) which works the same but permits you to enter a short reason for your action.  Ban Kick ejects the user from the room and prevents their return.  Ban Kick (why) does likewise but permits you to give a reaso
"Un-Ban" a user View/Delete Room Bans – By using this function you will be able to view or delete any member bans on your system. use this button to View/Delete Room Bans   You must be opped to Un-Ban a user.  Point in the middle of the channel window and click the RIGHT mouse.  Select Channel Modes.   A panel will appear.  Select the banned user you wish to Un-Ban and click the Remove button.  Click OK to close the panel.
Use the "Whois" command While  /whois nickhere  will open a system window with results, it is usually mixed with a lot of other extraneous data.  Use the View User Profile command instead. Type  /whois nickhere  in the text box at the bottom of the window and hit the Enter key.  The results will appear in the Status window.

Create a log file to create a log file while using the browser, right click in the screen and choose copy all, then go to start, accessories, notepad or word pad and right click in the pad window then choose past, then click on file save, and give the file a name. Click FILE then OPTIONS then LOGGING under the IRC heading.  Set the Automatically Log box to Both.  Then click OK to save the changes and exit the panel.
View a user profile go to zooperz.com  go to  zooperz.com
Start a P2P Chat click the nick name in the list type your message then click the cloud icon at the far right at the bottom of the chat. mirc uses double click the nick and begin.
